    What is ServiceArizona?

    ServiceArizona is an easy way for Arizona residents to take care of Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) business, any time of the day or night, from the comfort of their home or office. Currently, Arizona residents can use ServiceArizona for online Vehicle Registration Renewals, Personalized/Special Plates, Fleet Registration Renewals, Address Changes, ordering duplicate Driver Licenses or Identification Cards with or without an address change, obtaining a Restricted Use 3-Day Permit, viewing available Plate Credit, Driver License Reinstatement, Voter Registration, Duplicate Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Sold Notice, and for Fleet Application.

    What is the purpose for Restricted Use 3-Day Permit?

    A Restricted Use 3-Day Permit allows a person to operate an unregistered vehicle or a vehicle with a suspended registration from the present location of the vehicle to a specified destination. The Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is valid only for the following purposes:

    The Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is $1.00.

    How do I obtain the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit?

    The Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is printed from your home computer printer by following the steps of the EZ Permit section of the ServiceArizona Website.

    How long is the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit valid?

    The Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is valid for three (3) business days following the date of purchase. Weekends and holidays are not counted toward the permit's expiration time. Expired permits must be destroyed. You may be cited for the misuse of the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit.

    How does EZ Permit work?

    Who can use ServiceArizona to obtain a Restricted Use 3-Day Permit?

    Any customer with the following valid purpose:

    • Emissions Testing
    • Vehicle Inspection
    • Application for Title and/or Registration
    • Vehicle repair to comply with Emissions or Inspection
    What do I need to have in order to obtain a Restricted Use 3-Day Permit?

    • Vehicle Information (vehicle identification number, make & year).
    • Compliance with mandatory vehicle insurance requirements for the State of Arizona.
    • A valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit card.
    • A web browser that supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
    • A printer.
    • 8 ½ x 11-inch white paper.
    • The permit is only valid when printed 'black and white'.

    NOTE: No more than 3 Restricted Use 3-Day Permits will be issued to any vehicle in a 12 month period.

    What if the vehicle does not have a vehicle identification number?

    If your vehicle does not have a vehicle identification number (VIN), then you may purchase the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit to undergo a physical inspection at an authorized location.

    How do I display the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit?

    The Restricted Use 3-Day Permit must be displayed horizontally in the lower right corner of the rear window so that it is clearly visible from outside the vehicle.

    What do I carry in the vehicle for proof of registration?

    When the Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is printed, you will need to cut along the dotted line where specified to separate the permit from the registration. Tearing may destroy the permit. The registration needs to be carried in the vehicle until expired.

    What is the system availability schedule?

    ServiceArizona is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day with the exception of the following time periods:

    What forms of payment are accepted?

    You may pay with credit cards or check cards. Check cards are linked to checking accounts and are accepted anywhere credit cards are accepted. Check card purchases are automatically deducted from the linked checking account.
